- 1800s - First school house in Hendersonville opened, Washington Street
- 1865 - Blythe Street School opened
- 1898 - Hendersonville School offers high school courses
- 1901 - Hendersonville Graded School System established
- 1901 - Hendersonville Graded School opened in the former Judson College Building
- 1912 - New Hendersonville Graded School opened (a.k.a Fourth Avenue School and Hendersonville Grammar School)
- 1916 - Sixth Avenue School for Black Children opened
- 1919 - Anderson-Noterman House became the first named Hendersonville High School
- 1926 - New Hendersonville High School opened
- 1933 - Hendersonville Grammar School re-named Rosa Edwards School
- 1951 - New Ninth Avenue School for Black Children opened
- 1992 - Renovations
- 2022 - Renovation and new building opened
