• 1837 - School established at St. John’s in the Wilderness - Flat Rock
• 1908 - First East Flat Rock Graded School opened
• 1916 - First Tuxedo Graded School opened
• 1923 - East Flat Rock School for Black Children built (a.k.a. Rosenwald School)
• 1924 - Tuxedo School built - burned in 1929
• 1925 - New East Flat Rock School built
• 1930 - Tuxedo School rebuilt
• 1963 - Hillandale Elementary opened
• 2009 - New Hillandale Elementary School opened
